Backpackers season has started and many travelers are looking for a boat from Colombia to Cartagena. As there is no ferry service between these countries and cargo boats won't take passengers: The most common - and beautiful! - way is to travel on a sailboat.
Cartagena has two marinas and several skippers are offering their service to travelers from and to Panama. Boats are leaving frequently but irregular. The schedule depends on demand and weather conditions. The trip takes about 3 days and includes in most cases an additional stay on the San Blas Islands. The average price is USD 200.00 per person.

ChampeTUX es la comunidad costeña de usuarios de Software Libre. Se pronuncia "Tchammpetú". Más formal se llama "Asocación Promotora de Software Libre en el Caribe" y está registrado en la Camara de Comercio de Cartagena. Sus miembros son ingenieros, estudiantes y otros interesados en Software Libre. Entre tanto se reunen para organisar el Festival latinoamericano de Instalación de Software Libre, a veces solo se reunen para tomarse una cerveza. Cartagena will host World Tourism Organization General Assembly of 2007. "La Heroica" got elected with 61 to 47 votes over competing city Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) on yesterdays assembly of World Tourism Organization -formerly WTO, now UNWTO- in Dakar (Senegal). - (During the same event the former WTO acquired its new status as a specialized agency of the United Nations.)

Cartagena sera la sede de la Asamblea general de turismo mundial 2007 (World Tourism Organization General Assembly of 2007). La Heroica fue escogida por 61 votos, contra 47 de su competencia, la ciudad de Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), ayer en la asamblea de la organización mundial de turismo - formalmente WTO (Word Tourism Organization), ahora UNWTO- en Dakar (Senegal) - (Durante este mismo evento la WTO adquirió su nuevo estatus de agencia especializada de las Naciones Unidas.)

Rubén Blades is a Panamanian salsa singer, songwriter, actor and politician. His most famous songs are "Pedro Navaja" and "Chica Plástica", which made him become one of the most popular salsa voices. The graduated harvard lawyer won 4 grammies, acted in numerous movies like “Dead Man Out” (with Danny Glover) and got 20% of the votes running for president in Panamas 1996 election. In march 2006 he will be a jury member on the Cartagena International Film Festival.

El 23 de Noviembre, viene a Colombia Richard Matthew Stallman, quien ofrecerá una conferencia dirigida a toda la comunidad acerca del desarrollo del software libre y del proyecto GNU (Visite http://www.gnu.org), a partir de las 2:00 pm, en el auditorio Leon de Greiff - Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
